Music For Monday: Badfinger, ‘No Matter What’ (1970)

“Knock down the old grey wall. Be a part of it all…”

A very good Monday and last day of September to you. Here’s a rare Apple Records promotional video for Badfinger and their “No Matter What” single.

No Matter What” was written by Badfinger’s Pete Ham and produced by The Beatles road manager, Mal Evans. The tune first appeared on the band’s 1970 L.P., No Dice and hit the Top 10 in the US and the UK.

*Update/Interesting Note: I wrote this post on Sunday afternoon and set it to appear this morning. I originally began writing the post featuring Badfinger’s “Baby Blue.” I changed my mind to “No Matter What” as the video was better quality. I was rather stunned while watching the finale of Breaking Bad on Sunday evening to hear “Baby Blue” play in the last scene. A Badfinger coincidence. No one would have believed me that I hadn’t planned things if I stuck with “Baby Blue.”
