Funshine Friday madness has arrived! Here’s a rather bizarre and slightly wonderful song entitled “Cigarettes & Whiskey.” The old timey temperance tune is sung by the great Peter Sellers as part of his hosting duties for The Muppet Show. It was filmed in December of 1977.

*Interesting thought: The Muppet Show had a huge children’s viewership. Would this pass today’s TV censors?

A very fine Monday to you. This being the top of the week, I’ve selected a tune that will hopefully help you make it through to Friday evening.

Here’s the California-based band with Native and Latin American roots known as Redbone. The group had their biggest hit in 1974 with “Come and Get Your Love,” which hit #5 on the Billboard “Hot 100” and ended up as the 4th most popular tune of the year.
