“No one knows more than the diamond store – Zales.”

Time to open our wallets and purchase a 24-carat Daily 70s Spot. Here’s a Zales jewelers commercial featuring Christmas diamond rings and pendants. Spot aired in November of 1979. Narration may be by Christopher Plummer (only speculating, but it sounds like the man to me).

“See why they really are masters at Dutch Masters.”

Christmas is almost here, so for the next few days we’ll go with a jolly yuletide theme. Today we have another Dutch Masters cigar commercial. This spot features decorative Christmas gift tins “inspired by 19th Century collector’s items.” Spot aired in December of 1977. Narration likely provided by Mason Adams (it sure sounds like him to me).

“Anybody mind if I smoke?”

OK, let’s light up our Daily 70s Spot and blow it in our neighbor’s face. Here’s a Public Service Announcement from the American Lung Association regarding second-hand cigarette smoke. Spot aired around 1974 (during Tomorrow with Tom Snyder) but was likely produced earlier in ’72 or ’73.

You may recognize the fellow with the mustache in this spot who says “It bothers me too, Harry.” You saw him recently in this 1974 Ragu commercial.
