“He’s got a pocketful of money, a fun-loving woman, and a taste for excitement…”

I was immediately struck by how awesomely 70s and anachronistic this ad now seems. Far out! Daily 70s Ad #39: Viceroy ‘Excitement’ originally appeared in the February 20, 1975 issue of Jet magazine.

“For a better tasting Bloody Mary, use Seagram’s Gin instead of Vodka.”

So very red. I’m sensing a theme here. Daily 70s Ad #38: Seagram’s Bloody Mary Secret originally appeared in the December 29, 1975 issue of New York magazine.

What song was number one 35 years-ago-today? I’m glad you asked!

Rod Stewart released “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy” in November of 1978 and it appears on the singer’s Blondes Have More Fun L.P. The disco-flavored tune spent four weeks at the top of the Billboard “Hot 100” in February of 1979. Stewart has said he has no regrets about anything he’s done, but I’m not sure that still applies to his outfit in the official video below.

“It’s like pizza- on top of pizza!”

Yesterday we indulged in the beer – now, here’s the pizza. Two spots for Pizza Hut to be precise.

In the first commercial (aired in Jan.’76, produced in ’74) we have a family fussing over “chewy” versus “crispy” slices. In the second spot (from ’78) we have a table of fellows, which includes Richard Kline from Three’s Company, extremely excited about Pizza Hut’s “Super Style.” Bite into it.
