“A smashing victory in the war against drab.”

OK, it’s the Creighton Trench Shirt for $18.00. I get that. What I don’t get is the extraneous shoulder flap and whatever it is that guy has in his hand. Is it a fabric cleaner? Some kind of drowsing device? Daily 70s Ad #42: Bloomingdale’s Trench Shirt originally appeared in the May 24, 1976 issue of New York magazine.

“It’s tuned in before you turn it on.”

There’s something missing from this ad – the giant “rabbit ears” antenna. Daily 70s Ad #40: Emerson Permacolor TV originally appeared in the November 10, 1972 issue of LIFE magazine.

“He’s got a pocketful of money, a fun-loving woman, and a taste for excitement…”

I was immediately struck by how awesomely 70s and anachronistic this ad now seems. Far out! Daily 70s Ad #39: Viceroy ‘Excitement’ originally appeared in the February 20, 1975 issue of Jet magazine.
