“Shaves as close as a blade or your money back.”

The weekend is here and that means ancient commercials are being transmitted throughout the ‘Disco. Today I have a pair of electric shaver spots buzzing. First up, one for Remington. Next, a Norelco spot featuring the long-running, “Gotcha” campaign.

“Living Island is a most amazing place!” (‘Pufnstuf’ movie, 1970)

Are we having a fancy Funshine Friday yet? If not, here’s a tune from the 1970 motion picture, Pufnstuf to get you started in the right direction.

The song is entitled “Living Island” (written by Charles Fox and Norman Gimbel) and is sung by Jack Wild and the cast of Pufnstuf. Wait til’ you get a load of Mayor Pufnstuf’s singing voice. I’m not sure if he provided the singing voice, but Allan Melvin (Sam the Butcher on The Brady Bunch) portrayed Pufnstuf in the film. H.R. Pufnstuf’s TV voice was provided by Lennie Weinrib.
