Happy Funshine Friday, everybody! Here’s a 1970s moment to lead you into the weekend. It’s a very short film entitled, “Traffic Light” that originally ran in November of 1970 on Sesame Street. Lots of nice, 70s-era vehicles and harried pedestrians in this one. Honk! Honk! Beep! Beep! And that sort of thing.

Music For Monday: Defranco Family, ‘Heartbeat – It’s A Lovebeat’ (1974)

"Listen to my heart pound..." (Tony DeFranco and the DeFranco Family, 'Heartbeat - It's A Lovebeat,' 1974)

“Listen to my heart pound…” (Tony DeFranco and the DeFranco Family, ‘Heartbeat – It’s A Lovebeat,’ 1974)

A very fine Monday, everyone! If you’re looking for something sugary to keep your motor running throughout the afternoon, you’ll want to watch this clip.

Here we have the DeFranco Family performing their biggest hit, “Heartbeat – It’s A Lovebeat.” The song made it to the top 5 on Billboard’s “Hot 100” in the fall of 1973. Here you can catch the band singing on what I’m fairly certain is Jack Benny’s Second Farewell Special from January of 1974. Roll it!
