I’ve got four freshly-unearthed commercials from 1979 on display today. We’ll start off with a CBS promo for the premiere of The Bad News Bears TV series starring Jack Warden. The song in question was released as “I Really Had A Ball Last Night (Feelin’ Single, Seein’ Double)” in 1975. It was written by Wayne Kemp and an earlier version by George Jones may reside in your memory. Foot tapping guaranteed.

Music For Monday: Loretta Lynn, ‘You Ain’t Woman Enough’ (1970)

Here’s Loretta Lynn to get our week off to a good start. Lynn can be seen performing “You Ain’t Woman Enough” on The Ed Sullivan Show October 11, 1970.

“You Ain’t Woman Enough” was written by Lynn and hit #2 on Billboard‘s Hot Country singles chart in 1966. The tune originally appeared on an album of the same name in ’66 and later in 1970 on the compilation LP Loretta Lynn Writes ‘Em and Sings ‘Em. Likely the incentive for the performance below.
