I normally have a Saturday morning TV show for you on Funshine Friday, but let’s change things up a bit with one from Sunday evening.

Here’s an intro clip from The Wonderful World of Disney from 1979. The Parent Trap was the movie being presented the night this aired. Have a look and enjoy the upcoming weekend!

Loretta Lynn’s signature tune, “Coal Miner’s Daughter” was recorded in October of 1969 and released in May of 1970. This classic, written by Lynn about her Kentucky upbringing, rose to #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart and was her first song to crack the Billboard Hot 100 (#83).

Here’s a clip of Lynn (in a mighty colorful dress) which, according to the poster, is from an April 14, 1971 TV appearance in Nashville, Tennessee.

For Sunday’s spots, we have an eating theme laid out on the table. Firstly, a commercial you may remember for Hillshire Farm from September of 1979. After that, a Mazola corn oil spot from the same month.

The hearty, natural goodness on display will warm your cockles.

If all went to plan, these spots would have gone up early this morning. However, YouTube was having issues displaying images on this fine Saturday. That seems to be sorted out now and we can take in two toy-related commercials.

First up, a spot for Parker Brothers’ Waterworks card game from November of 1973. After that, one for the Superscope Story Teller from July of 1978. Roll ’em.

Hey, what do ya know! We made it to Friday. Let’s close out the week with some Sesame Street season two end credits circa 1970-1971.

In the clip, Big Bird has learned a bit of Spanish, we look over a selection of finger-paint originals and watch some kids at play. Have a great weekend and be sure and join us tomorrow for some vintage 70s commercials.
