Top o’ the Monday mornin’ to ya. Here’s James Gang, featuring Joe Walsh on vocals and blistering guitar, playing “Walk Away” live on European TV in 1971.
“Walk Away” was James Gang’s biggest hit (Billboard “Hot 100” #51) and appeared on the L.P., Thirds, released in April ’71.

“When you’re looking for comfort, look for the sign of cotton.”
Here’s two commercials espousing the virtues of cotton fabrics from the cotton industry. These were part of a long-running series of ads.
First, a spot featuring a female spokesperson showing off towels, sheets and a fancy, baby blue jeans combo. After that, one featuring a look at men’s fashion for work and weekends. Both spots aired in January of 1975 and were produced in 1974.

“They call it ‘Pennzoil PZL.’ I call it a winner.”
A grand Saturday to everyone. Let’s roll right into the vintage commercials. Today, we’ve got a pair from January, 1979 (produced in 1978).
Firstly, Ken Stabler (who, unfortunately, passed away last month) of the Oakland Raiders for Pennzoil. Stabler, aka “The Snake,” was AFC player of the year in 1974 and ’76 and led the Raiders to a Super Bowl victory in ’77.
Following that, a spot featuring mountaineer, Sir Edmund Hillary for the American Express card. Don’t leave the site without watching it.

Hanna-Barbera’s The Galloping Ghost first aired in 1978 as part of the Yogi’s Space Race series. The segments featured Nugget Nose, a feisty spirit prospector with a sharp sense of smell. The character was voiced by Frank Welker.
After Yogi’s Space Race bit the dust, The Galloping Ghost was paired with The Buford Files for a brief network run early in 1979. Take a gander at The Galloping Ghost‘s intro and have a splendid Funshine Friday!

“The first 4-wheeler that puts it all together.”
I’m going for the “Free Wheeling package option.” Definitely. The ’78 Ford Bronco originally appeared in the July, 1978 issue of Popular Science magazine.
