“It’s a miracle!”

Today, we swing back to July of 1975 for two classic spots from Xerox. First up is one you’ll likely remember, featuring Bother Dominic who needs 500 sets of copies made in a hurry.

After that, a commercial featuring an older actor who I’m almost certain is Will Lee, better known as, Mr. Hooper on Sesame Street. Yeah, ol’ Xerox used to be a pretty big deal.

“The little car that does everything well.”

Commercial time! Here’s two vintage Chevrolet commercials from November of 1970.

First up, a spot from Chevy Vega’s debut year featuring a 4-car line-up. The young man in the yellow sweatshirt looks very much like Christopher (Peter Brady) knight, but I can’t say for certain.

Second, a quality spot for the ’71 Chevy Camaro featuring a narrator that sounds a heck of a lot like Lorne Greene. Roll ’em!

Today, we’ve got the intro to a Hanna-Barbera cartoon that I must admit I’m barely familiar with. Dinky Dog originally aired as segments on The All-New Popeye Hour in 1978. The show featured a giant sheep dog (voiced by Frank Welker) and his owners Monica (Julie Bennett), Sandy (Jackie Joseph) and Uncle Dudley (Frank Nelson).

Catch the show’s intro below and have a happy Funshine Friday!

It’s the start of another week, and we need a shot of 70s music to get us moving in the right direction. Here’s the Bee Gees singing “Run To Me” in 1972.

“Run To Me” was released as a single in July of 1972 and hit the top 20 in both the US and UK. You can find the tune on the Bee Gees L.P., To Whom It May Concern.

On this Sunday afternoon, we’re screening two vintage commercials from 1976. First up, a memorable spot for Fireman’s Fund Insurance starring their spokesperson in a fireman’s hat. The ad aired in September ’76.

After that, a spot for NBC college basketball coverage featuring a game between Notre Dame and UCLA. The clip aired in January of ’76.
