Yesterday, we had O.J. running through an airport for Hertz. Today, we have Jeffrey Tambor and Avis with a parody commercial capitalizing on the former ad’s popularity.
Following that, another one for Avis featuring an overeager rental agent. Both spots aired in December of 1977.

Here’s a famous spot which doesn’t quite seem as fun as it once did. It’s O.J. Simpson racing through the airport for Hertz Rent-a-Car. The commercial aired in December of 1977.
Have you noticed that the term “Rent-a-Car” has faded away? ‘Twas much too silly for modern times I suppose.

We’ve had a couple of movie spots this week, now let’s turn to the tube. The CBS promo on-tap here features the Tuesday night line-up of M*A*S*H and One Day at a Time.
I was a big M*A*S*H fan, but One Day at a Time never quite got its hooks into me. I found Bonnie Franklin appealing, but Pat Harrington’s character tended to annoy me. How about you? What’s your verdict?
