Loyal visitors and 70s time-walkers – Bionic Disco is celebrating five years online today! I “soft launched” the site on May 30th, 2011 and I’m very pleased that you continue to check in and share the 1970s commercials and pop culture goodness.
To help the site grow and thrive, I’d love it if you could share your favorite Bionic Disco posts with your friends. You can find our Facebook and Twitter pages with a simple click. Also, don’t be afraid to leave friendly comments and distorted memories on posts. Hundreds of you check in here every day, but it sure is awfully quiet most of the time.
THANK YOU, Bionic pals! I do need to mention that my daily work schedule has become a bit overwhelming in the past two years, so I’m going to need to step back from daily posting here. Never fear though, there will still be regular updates and more awesome commercials on the way. Just not seven-days-a-week.
If you find yourself in need of some awesome 1970s music, I invite you to visit my newest site, CHERRY STEREO.com!
“Quality in every detail.”

The spot aired in December of 1976.

To finish off this week of commercials, we have two for Texaco. First up, a focus on rough road conditions and other vehicle wear and tear. After that, a commercial about erecting over 1,600 oil wells. Both spots were likely produced in late 1974 and aired in January of ’75.
