Here’s a spot for the nearly-defunct eatery, Sambo’s restaurant. At one point in the late 70s, Sambo’s had over a thousand locations. Today, there’s only one.
The best part about this July 1978 spot is the narration by Tom Bosely of Happy Days. Good one, Mr. C!

Time for some frosty snow in June in a Ski-Doo snowmobiles spot. The best part of this one is watching the male model/actor flashing his best “Blue Steel” look. The commercial aired in December of 1979.

The M&M’s Candies Man has sorta got a thing for chocolate-covered peanuts.
“The milk chocolate melts in your mouth…not in your hand.”
Now here’s a good one. It’s the M&M’s Candies Man singing a version of “The Candy Man” and prancing around San Francisco with a pack of kids. The spot aired in October of 1976.

Loyal visitors and 70s time-walkers – Bionic Disco is celebrating five years online today! I “soft launched” the site on May 30th, 2011 and I’m very pleased that you continue to check in and share the 1970s commercials and pop culture goodness.
