“When a man retires from football the worst thing he can do is let himself slow down…”

Time for a few cans of Miller Lite with football great Rosey Grier (and friends). Lest we forget, Grier was famous in the 70s for promoting needlepoint and guest-starring on a variety of TV shows such as Movin’ On and The Love Boat.

The commercial below aired in January of 1976 and was produced in 1975.

“The typewriter that also erases.”

Ready for some mid-70s bleeding-edge technology? Behold the IBM Selectric typewriter! This beast erases mistakes without the need to remove paper or apply White-Out. Nifty.

The commercial aired in January of 1976 and was produced in 1975.

Today, we have another ABC promo from November of 1972. This time, we find Robert Young and James Brolin starring in the long-running series (1969-76), Marcus Welby, M.D.. Dispense it below.

“Mommy lets me drop them in the washing machine.”

Here’s a fun, anachronistic spot for Salvo detergent. I’m not sure if the actor here is portraying a nosy neighbor or mother-in-law, but I do know that she’s the bee’s knees. If you can identify her (I recognize her face from sitcoms of the era), please let me know in the comments.

The commercial aired in October of 1970.
