Early 70s electronics on the viewer today. First, a supersonic Panasonic spot featuring a silver-suited spaceman and a variety of cool TV devices. Get a look at these TV-tape decks and miniature televisions. They’re future-forward! The commercial aired in November of 1971.

After that, one for the Sony “Cassette-Corder” tape recorder that aired in October ’71.

Second, Doris Roberts (Angie, Everybody Loves Raymond) appears in a funny little spot for Glade air freshener from July of ’75.

Sometimes I have second thoughts about posting old commercials starring folks that turn out to be not-so-perfect human beings. But, the pop history is worth remembering – so on with the show.

Here’s two STP gas treatment spots starring Robert Blake of Baretta fame. The gas station spot aired in November of 1977. The motocross clip in September ’77. And you can take dat to da bank.

Second, good ol’ Dave Madden (The Partridge Family) narrates a Carnation Instant Breakfast spot. Tear into it, dahlings!

Here’s a cozy, quick meal for you. First, mix up a piping hot mug of Swiss Miss Instant Cocoa. The spot aired in January of 1978 and features the Swiss Miss mascot (voiced, I believe, by Sheilah Wells).

After that, pour out a heaping bowl of Post Raisin Bran. The commercial aired in August of ’78.
