70s Spots: ‘Owen Marshall’ & ‘The Crooked Hearts’ ABC Promos (1972)

Bionic Lawyer, Lee Majors

“Thursday nights – here on ABC.”

A pair of ABC TV promos from November of 1972 for you today. First up, Owen Marshall, Counselor At Law starring Arthur Hill and Lee Majors. Majors eventually left the series to focus on his new hit, The Six Million Dollar Man. His replacement on Marshall? David Soul.

In second position, a spot for the Wednesday Movie of the Week, The Crooked Hearts, starring Rosalind Russell, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., and Ross Martin. This was to be Russell’s last film. She passed away in 1976.

Lloyd Bridges picked a bad day to give up watching TV.

“Magnavox gives you more.”

Happy St. Patrick’s Day and happy Funshine Friday! Don’t adjust your set – that is indeed Lloyd Bridges extolling the virtues of Magnavox television.

After Mr. Bridges, you’ll find a colorful spot for Zenith sets. Both commercials aired in December of 1971.
