Who Remembers?: Farrah Fawcett Hair Care Products (1979)

Farrah Fawcett Hair Care By Faberge circa 1979

Who remembers that actor-model-superstar Farrah Fawcett (Charlie’s Angels) had her own line of hair care products in the late 1970s? I had certainly forgotten, but this photo pulled from the end credits of a 1979 game show brought the memories back.

Looks like Farrah, famed for her golden, feathered locks, teamed with Fabergé to offer the great unwashed public a selection of shampoos, conditioners, and hair spray. The line was launched in 1977, but beyond that fact, details are scarce.

“A car that almost drives itself.”

A pair of “new for ’74” car commercials today. In the first garage we find the Chevy Caprice Classic. This thing just about drives itself! The spot aired in November of 1973.

In the second garage we have the Mercury Montego MX Brougham and a fancypants magic trick. The spot aired in September ’73.

Let’s enjoy a day-after-Thanksgiving repeat for Funshine Friday. (I’m too full to get up off the couch).

Hanna-Barbera’s Partridge Family 2200 A.D. originally ran in the fall of 1974. 16 episodes were produced, airing on CBS. This animated, futuristic take on the Partridges generally focused on Danny Partridge and his robot dog, Orbit. Most episodes followed Danny as he created problems that needed correcting while a loud laugh track insured us that the hijinks going on were funny.

Let's go in for a closer look. Hmmm, it's the Partridges all right. 225 years later and poor Chris and Danny never got to grow up.

Danny Bonaduce played himself and Brian Forster and Suzanne Crough voiced Chris and Tracy, but that was about it for the original cast. Susan Dey only voiced herself in the first two episodes and Shirley Jones, Dave Madden and David Cassidy were not involved. Here’s the cartoon Partridge Family 2200 A.D. band singing ‘”Gypsy Girl.” Have a happy Funshine Friday!

“Fred MacMurray and Shirley Jones host a family reunion!”

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I hope you have a nice, relaxing time with friends and family today. Here’s a brief and obscure ABC promo from November 1977 for Thanksgiving Reunion With The Partridge Family And My Three Sons. They need to air this one again as it’s been lost to the ages.
