Greetings! You know what time it is? It’s time to travel into the recesses of our minds and dust off some long-forgotten Seventies advertisements. This batch of commercials appeared on TV screens in 1976.

We’ll start off with Pillsbury’s Squoze drink mix and follow that up with spots for Doritos (with Avery Schreiber and David Lander), Arby’s, and Fruit of the Loom (with F. Murray Abraham and Samuel E. Wright). Dive in.

Arby’s restaurant ‘Platters’ commercial featuring a house-painting family on a break. Spot aired December 1976.

FRUIT OF THE LOOM ‘UNDERWEAR MASCOTS’ COMMERCIAL (1976)

Fruit of the Loom Men’s Cotton Briefs underwear commercial featuring the Fruit of the Loom mascots. Academy Award winning actor F. Murray Abraham appears as ‘Leaf’ and actor Samuel E. Wright as ‘Grape.’ Narration by Mason Adams. Spot aired June 1976.

  1. Never heard of Squoze, what the–! Love Arby’s like none other and I remember always laughing at those Fruit of the Loom guys… good stuff! 👍 👍 👍

    • I do remember Squoze, but likely only because of the animated mascot. I was crazy for anything animated as a kid. Not sure I ever tried the product.
