Maybe Cheech & Chong’s “Sister Mary Elephant” isn’t really music, but this slice of sketch comedy was released as a single, featured in the music press, and hit #24 on the Hot 100. The ad above appeared in the November 2, 1973 edition of Radio & Records magazine.
This would be a re-release of “Sister Mary Elephant,” which debuted in ’72, to capitalize on the success of Cheech & Chong’s “Basketball Jones.” Lend an ear and chuckle.
