The Choice Four ‘When You’re Young And In Love’ ad via Record World August 2, 1975
The Choice Four were a vocal group from the Washington, D.C. area taken under the wing of Van McCoy. McCoy wrote and produced “When You’re Young And In Love” which was originally a hit for The Marvelettes in 1967.
The Choice Four’s version appeared on their self-titled 1975 LP and dipped into the Hot 100 at #91. Unfortunately, the group had to compete with another version of the tune from actor Ralph Carter (Good Times) which released at the same time.
Choice Four certainly should have fared much better. Have a listen to this lovely, lilting version and see if you agree.
