Joe knows popcorn. (Hamilton Beach commercial, 1971)

“It’s so automatic I never have to scramble around.”

Here’s something of a commercial classic. At least to my 70s-addled mind. It’s football great, Joe Namath for the Hamilton Beach Butter Up Popper.

The spot aired in November of 1971 and poor ol’ Joe is out of service with a cast on his leg. All he can do is watch football and make heaping bowls of hot buttered popcorn.
