‘The Exorcist’ trailer title, 1973
The Exorcist levitated into theaters in late December of 1973 and was #1 at the box office for six weeks; from Jan 06 – February 10, 1974 (40-yrs-ago this week).
This horror classic, based on a 1971 novel by William Peter Blatty, was directed by William Friedkin and stars Ellen Burstyn, Linda Blair, Lee J. Cobb, Jason Miller and Max von Sydow.
Yes, Ellen, we’re horrified by the wig too.
Decades later, The Exorcist still tops many polls as “the scariest film of all-time.” Peek in a timid manner at the trailer below and enjoy a frightening anniversary.
