Today on Show Toppers we have a lesser-known series that lasted a brief year on the box. The Jimmy Stewart Show originally ran Sunday evenings at 8:30 on NBC from September, 1971 to August, 1972. The situation comedy starred silver screen hero, James Stewart as Athropology professor, James K. Howard who teaches at a small California college founded by his grandfather. The easy-going professor’s life is complicated when his 29-year-old son (and his family) move in, forming a crowded, multigenerational home.
Other cast members included Julie Adams as Stewart’s wife, Martha, Jonathan Daly as son, Peter and John McGiver as Stewart’s co-worker, Dr. Luther Quince. Grab a look at the intro below.
